Achievements of the women of today need no introduction. Women everywhere are excelling in every field. However, most women still need to understand their potential and know that the voice they have is heard and is as loud as a roar.
Women empowerment is a global issue. There are activists standing up for women who need to be heard. In the light of this I would also like to say that, feminism and pseudo-feminism are very different. If you are someone who genuinely believes in equal rights for everyone, all humankind then that’s okay, that is feminism. But thrashing men in the name of feminism is not a genuine uprising. Men have problems too.
QNET has been empowering women from every corner of the world. QNET’s current CEO, Malou Caluza, is also a woman who has seen struggles all along. In India, QNET has started a few projects for empowering women.
Most of the women in these areas are housewives. They are homemakers, which is a job on its own. They all depend on their husbands or family members for money. With this programme, women in these villages are being trained in mushroom cultivation and are also being educated on nutrition. This is all to make them become somewhat financially independent. Most of these women are the sole earning member in the family and are supporting the family.
Direct selling has been the part of the economy for a really long time. Direct selling has been giving power to the underprivileged community. It offers a lot of benefits for a woman to be attracted to it. For example –
Flexible timings: this is something that attracts women to this line of business the most. Most of these women are home makers and have to give time to their children as well as their families. As we all live in a patriarchal society, we know the amount of responsibilities a woman puts up with in today’s world. Direct selling gives them the liberty of flexible work hours to manage both work and house without too much stress.
Stress-free work from home environment: This is yet another benefit for women in direct selling. Some of these women are new mothers and they need to be in a stress-free environment. When I became a mother I was so relieved that I was in this line of business; I could give enough time to my daughter as well as work and I didn’t miss a thing when she was growing up. I didn’t have to go through the PTSD or anything of that sort.
Being a woman, I would urge all the women out there who wants to do something to try direct selling and take control of their lives and Be Your Own Boss.
